OPO Scandinavia gets new owner in Seafire AB
2022-05-30The Malmö-based eyewear company OPO Scandinavia got new owners on Monday the 30th of May when Seafire AB became the majority owner.
OPO Scandinavia designs, markets and sells spectacle frames, accessories and tools for the optics industry. They operate throughout the Nordic region and have their head office, studio and showroom at the top of a former printing house in Malmö. OPO Scandinavia has reported good results in recent years and there has been a great interest in the growing company. "OPO Scandinavia has been a very successful investment for SCP Fond II", says Per Nilsson and Jesper Jelmteg, Partners, SCP Advisors, who have now sold their ownership in OPO to listed Seafire AB.
Seafire AB (publ) (“Seafire” or the “Group”) acquired 100 percent of the shares in OPO Scandinavia AB (“OPO” or “the Company”), on Monday, May 30, 2022.
With Seafire as owner, OPO Scandinavia will have an owner / board that can help the company develop in the long term. "Seafire will contribute resources that enable continued growth for the company." says Irena Färemo, CEO of OPO Scandinavia.

The optics industry has major challenges with chains that control parts of the market and a digital revolution that is slowly making its way into this rather conservative arena. Together with its new owners and employees at OPO, who have the knowledge and passion for eyewear, the company is now continuing its growth journey.
